Cocaine

Cocaine is considered a celebrity drug. How to recognize addiction to a dangerous substance, how long it stays in the blood or saliva and what are the consequences if a person becomes addicted to cocaine? All information about the often inflected drug summarized in one clear article.

The effects of cocaine

White powder absorbed by a rolling pin - a completely iconic scene from many a Czech or foreign film. Before the war, popular in the world of the cream of society, now a commonly available drug that is popular not only among celebrities and the rich. Cocaine. It was previously used by the Incas as a substance contained in coca leaves, later a commercially produced substance intended for medical purposes, and today a drug banned in most countries of the world, to which it is possible to develop an addiction.

The effects of cocaine are similar to those of meth. After using it, a person begins to be surrounded by great self-confidence, they feel refreshed and are ready for all the experiences that will follow in the next moments (mostly connected with sex or alcohol). Cocaine, as a stimulant drug, also supports overall communication with others and the determination of the individual. This is due to the effect of complete euphoria, into which one falls.

In any case, cocaine has a very short-term effect, for a long-term effect it is necessary to indulge in the drug repeatedly and quite often. However, this lays the foundation stones of addiction, which gradually destroys not only the body, but above all the psyche.

Symptoms of cocaine

  1. The eyes are greatly altered under the influence of cocaine. As with the use of THC or amphetamines, the pupils become less responsive (specifically, dilated) and the eyes become very red or bloodshot. This is due to the inability to sleep, which is a side effect of the drug being used.
  2. The behavior of a drugged person is very different, unnatural. Manifestation of huge euphoria and feelings of happiness, frequent laughter - these are warning signs. On the other hand, behavior can also be very negative - individuals can behave aggressively and very impulsively.
  3. The nose also reveals that a person is using cocaine. If a person is constantly sniffling or has a runny nose, it may not just be a temporary cold that is to blame. Add to that the fact that the person is constantly reaching for and wiping their nose, and the reason for this facial expression is quite clear.

How to recognize cocaine?

Cocaine is very often mistaken for meth, and quite often an addict can get access to substances that are very far from cocaine. Pure meth is in the form of a microcrystalline powder, it is not colored in any way. If the drug has a yellow, brown or purple color, it indicates domestic production that is not clean. The powder is odorless, with a bitter taste that numbs either the tongue or the nasal septum.

What are the risks?

Since cocaine only provides short-term pleasure, it is used long-term to maintain it, which rapidly increases the likelihood of addiction. However, we are not talking about the only risk associated with the use of the drug. There may also be a feeling of weakness, rapid heart rate, headache or diarrhoea. Other risks include:

  • feelings of stress,
  • Sleep Disorders,
  • vomiting
  • shake or
  • anorexia.

Long-term use may also cause nosebleeds, sore throat, cough, muscle cramps or noticeable weight loss. The aforementioned sleep problems can persist and become a long-term problem.

The biggest risk and the darkest scenario is death. Overdose causes a heart attack or seizure, bleeding in the brain due to increased pressure, kidney failure or convulsions may also occur.

How to treat cocaine addiction?

Cocaine addiction does have physical manifestations, but we are primarily talking about a psychological problem, not a physical one. Even worse and more demanding is the treatment of addiction, which above all requires determination and perseverance.

  • The first thing to do is to withdraw from cocaine, when sleep occurs immediately afterwards, even for several days. Cocaine, as a drug, also brings with it sleep disturbances and red, bloodshot eyes that result from insufficient sleep. Sleep is therefore an activity that begins after the withdrawal of the drug, which subsequently goes hand-in-hand with great hunger and, immediately after, the consumption of a large amount of food.
  • After regaining strength, rest and satiety, comes the usual and very strong desire for the drug, which goes hand in hand with irritability. Depression is not so strong, because the body is in better physical condition.
  • After a few days or weeks, milder difficulties appear, the desire for the drug weakens. However, it is true that there is still interest in it, even several months after it has been discontinued.

The finish, or state that follows a period of continuous use of the drug, is usually several days. It can indicate that a person is addicted to drugs. The euphoria caused by cocaine ends at the finish line. The user may feel lethargic, depressed, it is often difficult to get out of bed, and moodiness is what accompanies the person during the day.

In many cases, the user is also isolated from others during this catch-up phase.

How long does cocaine stay in the blood and saliva?

Cocaine stays in the blood for a relatively short time, or is detectable for a relatively short time (maximum 5 hours). However, it is detectable in urine for longer, approximately 12-14 hours. Everything also depends on the time of drug use. With long-term use, the probability of detection is up to five times longer.

How long does cocaine last in saliva? Cocaine stays in saliva longer, specifically up to one day. Interestingly, drug use can also be detected by our hair, where it remains for up to ninety days.

How to get cocaine out of the body?

The upcoming cocaine test is often the main reason why individuals try to get the drug out of their bodies as quickly as possible. Home methods are offered, but it is necessary to consider all the risks they entail. In order to eliminate the remains of the substance from the body, one should drink a lot of water. At a minimum, they will be diluted, and not as likely to be detected.

Diet and exercise can also help, you should focus on diuretic foods and drinks that promote the excretion of urine and with it drugs from the body.

What is crack?

Crack is the slang name for the free base of cocaine, which is one of the most insidious drugs ever. This form is intended for smoking and is created by mixing cocaine in water with ammonia and baking powder. The water is then allowed to evaporate, resulting in a solid substance that acts very quickly. A rush of desired well-being comes in just ten seconds, but this effect ends after about ten minutes.
