Psychosomatic difficulties
When the body speaks for us
The body and psyche form a single whole – what we experience is always reflected in our physical state. Psychosomatic problems are a typical example of how long-term internal pressure, unexpressed emotions or chronic overload can manifest themselves through physical symptoms. And vice versa – even a physical illness can significantly affect our psyche, mood or ability to cope with everyday situations.

We are a bio-psycho-socio-spiritual being
At NEO Center, we work with a holistic view of the human being – each of us is an interconnected being with biological, psychological, social and spiritual needs. It is ideal when these areas are in balance. We can handle short-term deviations – the body and psyche are capable of compensation. However, in the case of long-term imbalance, the imbalance begins to manifest itself in various ways.
On a physical level, this often first manifests as:
- functional problems – we subjectively feel pain, tension, fatigue, frequent infections, but examination does not reveal any obvious cause,
- increased sensitivity to common stimuli – the body is overloaded and weakened, we get sick more often, and it is difficult to regenerate,
- chronic fatigue, headaches, digestive problems, heart palpitations or insomnia - without objective findings.
We call these problems psychosomatic disorders – they are real, even if they are “not visible” on medical tests. If the imbalance is addressed in time, it is possible to successfully manage them without permanent consequences.
However, if it persists for a long time, changes can also occur at the organ level - and diseases that are already objectively measurable will develop. However, even here, the psychosomatic component remains essential - and treatment of the body without work on the psyche is often incomplete.
Typical conditions with a psychosomatic background include, for example:
- allergies and asthma,
- chronic pain (head, back, joints),
- digestive problems (irritable bowel syndrome, reflux, constipation, diarrhea),
- skin problems (eczema, psoriasis),
- autoimmune disease,
- high blood pressure, cardiac arrhythmia,
- and oncological diseases (in the context of lifestyle and long-term stress).

It's not "just in your head"
Psychosomatic difficulties are not a sign of weakness or “feigning.” They are a signal that our body and psyche are crying out for help—that important needs are not being met, emotions remain suppressed, and balance is disrupted.
The body often speaks where we don't give ourselves enough space - for stopping, resting, sadness, anger, or a change we've been putting off for a long time. Learning to read these signals, listen to them, and perceive them without judgment is the key to change.

How we help at NEO Center
Individual therapy
We always understand psychosomatic problems in the context of your story. In therapy:
- we are looking for connections between physical symptoms and psychological stress,
- we learn to perceive the body's signals in a timely and safe manner,
- we discover connections with life values, our relationship to ourselves and the world around us,
- We create a path to balance that comes from within you – not from external expectations.
Support for working with the body and emotions
The therapy is complemented by relaxation techniques, breathing exercises and bodywork, which help to release tension, reconnect with physical experience and restore trust in body signals. Bodywork is not separate from the psyche – but becomes a natural part of it.
Residential care
For clients with significant psychosomatic burden, we also offer a residential program that allows them to temporarily escape everyday stress and devote more intensive attention to their body and psyche. An environment of support, regularity, and therapeutic presence helps the body regenerate and the mind slow down.

Balance is a journey – not a state
Health is not about perfect balance – it’s about recognizing when we’re out of balance and being able to respond. Sometimes the body “takes the floor” because it hasn’t been given space for a long time. At NEO Center, we offer you a safe space where you can listen to yourself again – and step by step restore the inner balance that is truly yours.
